Avenger Notes...

The Avenger Air Defense Weapon System is a lightweight, day/night, limited adverse weather fire unit for countering the threat of low altitude, high-speed, fixed wing or rotary wing aircraft. The fire unit incorporates two turret mounted Stinger missile pods, and a .50 caliber machinegun.

Avenger can engage a target with missiles or the machinegun, on-the-move or from a stationary position. The gunner may operate inside the turret or from a remote location.

Below are some pictures I took on a recent Firex.

	The pictures here were taken on a recent Firex (Firing Exercise) at 29 Palms. As you can see, there isn't much there to hamper military operations. I was stationed there for a couple of years when I was on active duty...
The Avenger you see here is waiting for a target... It won't be long...
	Although the Avenger can shoot on the move, it was fired from a stationary position here...
Both of the Avengers shown here scored direct hits...
	This is the business end of the missile pod. You can see the end of the Stinger Missile in the upper left bay...
This is what's left of one of the targets. You can see some of the debris falling to the earth...

The Avenger can also be fired remotely from this remote console...
