Hosted by U.S. Pacific Fleet, and led by Vice Adm. Gerald Beaman, commander of the U.S. Third Fleet (C3F), RIMPAC 2012 marks the first time non-U.S. officers will command components of the combined task force during the exercise. Commodore Stuart Mayer of the Royal Australian Navy will command the Maritime Component and Brig. Gen. Michael Hood of the Royal Canadian Air Force will command the Air Component. Other key leaders of the multinational force include Royal Canadian Navy Rear Adm. Ron Lloyd, deputy commander of the Combined Task Force (CTF), and Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Rear Adm. Fumiyuki Kitagawa, vice commander of the CTF.

This year’s exercise includes units or personnel from Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Tonga, the United Kingdom and the United States.

R. Emmett Tyrrell, the founder and editor in chief of The American Spectator magazine, tells Newsmax.TV that President Barack Obama is not a liberal, but rather a new breed of politico that he describes as a “stealth socialist.”

In a revealing new book, The Amateur, author Edward Klein interviews President Barack Obama’s physician, Dr. David Scheiner, MD, who blasts the president’s health care plan and says that President Obama has an “academic detachment” that he could never break through.

The doctor fears that if the health care plan is “the failure” he believes it will be, because of runaway costs and other problems, then any health reform will be set back for years to come.

“The president has repealed `don’t ask, don’t tell’ and is using the military as props to promote his gay agenda,” said Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo., who is running for Senate.

The committee, on a vote of 37-24, backed an amendment that barred same-sex marriages or “marriage-like” ceremonies on military installations. The panel also endorsed an Akin amendment that said the services should accommodate the rights of conscience of members of the services and chaplains who are morally or religiously opposed to expressions of human sexuality.

In an odd exchange, Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., questioned what would happen if a service member literally interpreted the Old Testament’s Leviticus, which considers homosexuality an abomination. Rep. Austin Scott, R-Ga., disputed her contention that was part of the Bible, saying it was the Old Testament.

It is completely clear what authority these politicians are listening to. It clearly isn’t a divine authority.  Remember to vote in November.

The Rim of the Pacific drills will begin on June 29 and last through August 3.  These exercises are held by the Navy, in Hawaii, every other year. This is the 23rd time they’ve been held since 1971.

The U.S. Third Fleet said in a news release Tuesday, May 8th, that six submarines, 42 ships, and more than 200 aircraft will play a part. Some ships and aircraft will run partially on biofuels in a first-of-its-kind demonstration of the Navy’s development of alternative energy.

Twenty-five thousand people from 22 nations will participate in the exercises, either directly or as observers.  More details as we get closer to RIMPAC 2012 time.

In an interview with NBC Today on Monday, Dania Suárez portrayed the Secret Service agents who allegedly contracted prostitutes in Cartagena, Colombia, as drunken morons and said she had sex with one of them. “They seem like completely stupid idiots. I don’t know why Obama had them in his security team,” Suárez said.

The incident broke into public view when Suárez argued with a Secret Service agent over her payment in a hallway of the Caribe Hotel. Local law enforcement intervened on the prostitute’s behalf. Paid sex is legal in Cartagena, but violates codes of conduct for U.S. personnel who were working there.

The Secret Service sex scandal erupted ahead of Obama’s trip last month to Cartagena, to attend the Summit of the Americas.  In the wake of the scandal, 100 Secret Service agents will receive ethics training. Ms. Suárez is also currently in negotiations with Playboy Magazine to do a spread on her.

c|net reports that the malware was spotted by security blog abuse.ch, and taps into an exploit kit known as “Blackhole.” Sold underground, Blackhole is used by criminals to infect computers through security holes in the browser or third-party plug-ins, such as Java and Adobe Reader.

If the version of Java, for example, is not up to date with the latest patches, the downloaded file will exploit the software’s weakness by downloading the Trojan to the PC and then running it. Once the PC is infected, the user will receive a message on the screen saying that the computer has been locked for illegally downloading pirated music.

The message aimed toward those in the U.K. further says that “to unlock your computer and to avoid other legal consequences, your are obligated to pay a release fee of 50 pounds,” around $80. The directions instruct the user to submit payment using an online payment system called Paysafecard. The message itself tries to look official with a logo of the Metropolitan Police at the top.

The malware has so far been targeting users in the U.K., Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands. The criminal behind this campaign appears to speak German, according to abuse.ch, since the local URLs used in this scam are all in German.

But the messages are, of course, written in the native language of the intended victims of each country, even going so far as to tell them where and how to obtain Paysafecard locally. The ransomware carries a further payload in the form of a Trojan called Aldi Bot, which steals banking information, abuse.ch added.

Fahd al-Quso was hit by a missile as he got out of his vehicle, along with another Al Qaeda operative in the southern Shabwa province. The strike was authorized by the Yemeni government, which then made the announcement after the operation was complete.
